November 29^th, 2019, Friday after Thanksgiving, WanXiang America, the Chairman Company of the CGCC Chicago invited Chicago General Consulate, CGCC Chicago executive board members, Wanxiang Soccer Club and their families to participate in the 2019 Thanksgiving Solar Star Foundation Charity Auction in Hoffman Estates. More than 100 people gathered together to celebrate the holiday. Wanxiang also prepared gifts and lottery activities.

Established in July 2010, the Solar Star Foundation is an independent not-for-profit foundation organized by a group of student members in the Solar Star Club to promote the popularity and education of solar energy. The Solar Star Foundation is committed to clean energy development and solar education, working with young people to improve the quality of the environment. The Solar Star Foundation has recognized that solar energy, as one of the cleanest, most effective and abundant alternative energy sources available today, has great potential to make our world greener.

November 23rd, 2011, the first auction fundraising event of the Solar Star Foundation raised $ 3245 supporting solar projects for at least 5 schools. The Solar Star Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, all contributions can be deducted from personal or corporate income tax. A total of 30 items were sold in 2019, including Wanxiang Solar Factory / Solar Power Station Field trip, Solar Star Foundation School naming rights, the CGCC Chicago internship opportunities with a recommendation letter signed by the Chairman of the CGCC Chicago, a certificate of internship, painting, and other artworks.

The auction is divided into two parts, the “Silent Auction” started two weeks earlier than the “Live Auction” on November 29^th. From employees and family of Wanxiang American Company, directors of CGCC Chicago, and members of Wanxiang Soccer Club raised $ 3,891.00. Wanxiang American matched 100% for all the funds raised in this charity auction, and donated $ 7,782.00 to the Solar Star Foundation.
