The US-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Chicago promoted the “Localization” of Chinese member companies in 2019: global compliance, cross-cultural communication and corporate social responsibility
From July 15th to 24th, CGCC Chicago and WBC visited five sister cities in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Beijing and Chengdu, China, and held a 7-day China tour. Li Gang, as the representative of CGCC Chicago and WANXIANG America, along with Ms. Zopp, CEO of WBC led the U.S. delegation. China Ministry of Commerce Investment Promotion Bureau (CIPA), local governments, US EDC representatives in China, and local companies welcomed the U.S. delegation. The representative presented the 4th CGCC Chicago Annual Gala on September 17th in Chicago, IL USA to companies and commerce chambers in China with the Handbook of the 2019 U.S. Midwest Investment, and the annual conference video. The Governors of the five cities were much interested and highly recognized the investment environment in Chicago and the Midwest. They expected to see more investment guides and topics such as different investment fields, successful stories of Chinese-funded enterprises in the United States, and the existing challenges and solutions. We hope that the 4th annual gala will help both Chinese and American companies to enhance mutual benefit.
The Consul General of the U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai committed the “Visa Green Channel” to the Chinese attendees of the gala. XU KunLin, the Deputy Mayor of Shanghai, instructed the deputy director of the Shanghai Commercial Committee, Yang Chao, to attend the annual meeting. HU Wei, the Deputy Mayor of Hangzhou, instructed JIN HuanGuo, the Deputy Director of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce and SHENG XiaoRong, the Deputy Director of the Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau: “To attend the annual gala, as in 2018, and also encourage enterprises to participate” The exclusive sponsor of CGCC Chicago, Grant Thornton China also actively participated in the events of those cities. CGCC Chicago wants to thank Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP in China for hosting the reception in Shanghai. Other honorable CGCC Chicago members who participated in the roadshow expressed their gratitude too. They would like CGCC to host more activities in the future to improve the business development of Chinese and American companies.
