On the afternoon of December 19, 2019, Central Time, the CGCC Chicago held the 2019 new member welcoming reception and the business exchange meeting between the CGCC Chicago and the Nantong, Jiangsu Province delegation group. Zhidan Liu, General Manager of Bank of China Chicago Branch and Vice President of the CGCC Chicago, delivered a speech on behalf of the Chairman of the CGCC Chicago and the Executive Committee of the CGCC Chicago, welcoming the new members of CGCC Chicago and the Nantong, Jiangsu Province delegation group. Ms. Jie Li, the Executive Director of the CGCC Chicago, presided over the meeting and introduced the CGCC Chicago’s work and general introduction of the CGCC Chicago membership. The general managers or senior management executives of some new members gave a detailed presentation of their corporates and businesses in the United States. They expect to expand their business in the United States via the CGCC Chicago platform and make the contributions and efforts to the CGCC Chicago and the United States local communities. 

Led by Bengao Chen, the Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Nantong Committee, the representative of the Nantong business exchange delegation gave an excellent speech about the Nantong’s investment environment and opportunity. They also warmly invites business cooperation opportunities between China and the United States. Some current members of CGCC Chicago, Xinhua news agency, China News, and some Chinese and American companies who are interested in the CGCC Chicago’s services and business opportunities attended the reception.

Established in 2015, CGCC Chicago has made significant progress in promoting the bilateral trade, economic development, and investment opportunities in the Midwest of the United States and has been welcomed by the active members. Hong Kong Yee Fung Holdings Development Group, Leyard Group, JDL Environmental Protection Company, Jilin Changchun Logistics Equipment Company, Nanjing Bordrin New Energy Company, Y&N Construction Materials Company, JIE Drive Technology Co., Ltd, Yantai Eddie Precision Machinery Co., bKL Architecture, China Iowa group, BDO USA and other Chinese and American companies joined the CGCC Chicago in 2019.

At the meeting, Hangtang Tu, Associate Director of bKL Architecture, presented the company and architectural projects, including Parcel IJKL at Lakeshore East, Wolf Point West Tower, 300 N Michigan, Wanda Vista Tower, UBTech Headquarters in China, and Shenzhen Tower in China. Lu Chen, the Senior Vice Manager of BDO China Desk, explained the financial services particularly suited for the new business in the United States market. Ms. Xinlei Liu, CEO, China Certification & Inspection Group, Chicago branch, mentioned that she is delegated to the Chicago branch recently. With CGCC Chicago’s all-round help, she quickly adapted to the new working and living environment. She feels that a warm family has embraced her. Chen Zhiwei of Yantai Eddie Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. shared that he was referred to the CGCC Chicago by one of the peers. He chose to visit the CGCC Chicago as his first stop when he landed in Chicago. The reliable reputation and resourceful platform have made CGCC Chicago the go-to place for both the Chinese and US companies who want to explore the business opportunities between the two countries. Mr. Jianan Sheng, Business Development Director of China Mobile International (USA), just flew back to Chicago on the 19th. He came over directly from the airport and gave an impressive presentation about the latest professional and comprehensive services offered by China Mobile.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Charles Wu, Partner, Locke Lord Law Firm, a senior associated member and lawyer Matthew Burton introduced the services that the law firm provided to the CGCC Chicago members. They would continue to offer the same high quality professional legal services for members, who may encounter issues such as legal and compliance operation of the United States in 2020.
