Chicago, IL – September 28, 2024 – CGCC Chicago, in collaboration with the Chinese American Association at Greater Chicago (CAAGC), is excited to join the community in a grand cultural parade, commemorating 45 years of U.S. diplomatic relations and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. This special event, held in Chicago’s vibrant Chinatown, aims to promote cultural exchange, friendship, and mutual respect between communities.
The parade will feature traditional performances, including lion and dragon dances, marching bands, and creatively designed floats, offering a unique opportunity to experience the richness of Chinese culture and celebrate community unity.

Hubei – Chicago International Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Meeting Successfully Held on

On August 26, a Hubei province delegation participated in the “Hubei – Chicago International Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Meeting” at McCormick Place, co-organized with World Business Chicago. Several CGCC Chicago members joined the 12-member delegation in productive discussions with local businesses and partners, helping to strengthen economic ties.
Through the active participation of CGCC Chicago members, the visit successfully laid a strong foundation for future collaborations and deeper engagement between the two regions.

The 2024 Chicago World Cup concluded on a high note, thanks to the tremendous support from Chicago Fire FC and the Fire Pitch. A special appreciation goes to CGCC Chicago member companies for their active participation and valuable contributions to the event.
Teams from China, the United States, Mexico, France, Egypt, Mongolia, and Ecuador showcased remarkable performances, embodying the Olympic spirit of sportsmanship and excellence. Their participation made the tournament truly unforgettable, providing spectators with a thrilling and memorable experience. It is the enthusiasm and dedication of everyone involved that made this international event a resounding success.

Day 1: Wednesday, September 11th, 2024
CSCMP Forum at IMTS and Member Exhibitor Visits:
CGCC Chicago representatives were invited to attend the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) forum at IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show). Following the forum, the delegation visited member exhibitors, engaging with key manufacturers showcasing the latest advancements in technology and supply chain management.

Day 2: Thursday, September 12th, 2024
CGCC Chicago U.S.-China Manufacturing Business Luncheon:
Hosted at Uber Freight’s Chicago headquarters, the luncheon gathered U.S. and Chinese business leaders to discuss the evolving landscape of manufacturing partnerships. With presentations from Jie Li, Executive Director of CGCC Chicago, and stakeholders from Uber Freight, World Business Chicago (WBC), Intersect Illinois, and the Illinois Office of Trade and Investment (OTI), the luncheon provided valuable insights into the future of U.S.-China manufacturing collaboration.

Site Visits to Leading Manufacturers & Mid-Autumn Festival Business Dinner:
Participants were treated to an exclusive tour of three prominent U.S. manufacturing companies. The day began with a visit to ECHO Inc. in Lake Zurich, followed by a tour of Freedman Seating Company in Chicago. The final visit was to CRRC Sifang’s Chicago facility, where attendees explored the company’s manufacturing operations and innovations in the rail transportation sector.

Golf Networking Event and Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

Event Highlights:
- Participation in the CSCMP forum at IMTS and visits to member exhibitors on Day 1.
- Presentations from key stakeholders at the Uber Freight luncheon, including insights on U.S.-China manufacturing collaboration.

Graphic Design Intern – CGCC Chicago
CGCC Chicago is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join our team. We’re looking for a creative, organized, and motivated individual with a passion for innovative design.
Responsibilities:
- Design layouts for web, print, digital, social media, and marketing materials.
- Contribute fresh ideas and concepts.
- Maintain brand consistency across all designs.
- Assist in managing projects to meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with the team to present and justify design choices.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator (Premier and After Effects are a plus).
- Strong English and Chinese Mandarin communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, team player, and open to feedback.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pursuing or holding a degree in Graphic Design, Media, Visual Communications, or related fields.
Details:
- Location: Downtown Chicago.
- Schedule: 10-15 hours per week, including one onsite team meeting.
